The best SEO tools around
Picture this. You’ve done your research and put the effort into finding the best content writers around (for the avoidance of doubt – that’s us). You’ve read our expert advice on preparing your post for publishing, and you’ve followed the checklist to a T. You’ve done everything right… and yet each time you refresh your webpage, there’s still a big fat zero in the comments section. Why? What’s going on? Where did you go wrong?
Honestly, there’s nothing wrong. Don’t panic! We don’t deliver content that’s anything less than perfect from our side, and we know you won’t accept anything less than perfect, either. So quality isn’t an issue. If your post isn’t reaching your intended audience, it’s probably because they simply can’t find it.
But with the right SEO tools, you can make your post visible to them.
So let’s take a look at some of the best SEO tools for taking you from a second-pager to a first page superstar.
1. Rank Math
This is it. This is our tool. We’ve checked out a few, and we thought Yoast was super duper for a while, but we had some advice from our SEO genius friends at Gromfrog and made the switch. So far our move to Rank Math has been quick and easy. It’s solved a few niggles that we just couldn’t work through with Yoast. We’ll keep you posted on how we get on, but so far it’s fab.
2. KudoSEO
KudoSEO has been developed by our very good friends over at Maas Media. They call this their ‘out of the box’ SEO solution for WordPress websites, and they’re not wrong. They’ve designed a unique on-page optimisation system that delivers top-level search results and gets your content seen by the people that matter the most. If you do decide to use KudoSEO, be sure to let us know. We’ll whip up an additional piece for you with your targeted keywords so that you can start optimising your content.
3. SEMRush
Do you want to know one of the best ways to excel at SEO? Be nosy! SEMRush makes it easy for you to check out what your competitors are doing (and perhaps even more importantly, what they’re not doing), and it can even find you new competitors to analyse. This tool shows you what sort of keywords and phrases your competitors are targeting, and how these keywords are performing, giving you competitive intelligence you can really use. The free version allows you to conduct 10 searches per day.
4. Nightwatch
There’s lots of stuff Nightwatch can do, but it makes our list for its pretty awesome backlink tracker. What comes to mind when you think of SEO? Keywords, right? Yes, keywords are a huge part of optimisation, but Google’s ranking algorithm takes a lot more into account. Did you know that backlinks can have a massive impact on your ranking? This tool helps you discover, analyse, and monitor the quality of your backlinks, and understand how they affect PageRank. OutreachPlus is another good one.
We’ve got your back
SEO is definitely a lot more complex than it seems on the surface, but it’s a lot easier if you share the responsibility. At WordHound, we’re here to create optimised content that not only speaks to your readers and successfully delivers your brand message, but also ensures that your audiences can find it. We know that we create front page content. All you have to do is make sure Google does, too.
